Volume 2

Volume 2 of Cultural Recall can be summarized as a collection of short stories that highlights ordinary Mi’kmaw people's lives , and their  struggles,  as told by the People themselves or Mi’kmaw storytellers.

 Stories tell about our war heroes, parents teaching Mi’kmaw traditions to their children, how our People cope with family tragedies and loss of loved ones and tales of survival while hunting or traveling on the country. 

The historical keynote story relates the life and last days of one of Newfoundland’s last nomadic Mi’kmaw families as told through the eyes of Marie who was a true hero.

I hope that you enjoy reading this book.

Autumn has arrived and it seems that we are now in a waiting  time, anticipating winter's  coming.

It is a good time to review all that has been accomplished.

Consider the Sa'ke'j  blogs.

"RAVEN'S WING" has had 1025 visitors . and has 40 posts.

"THE VOICE" has  had 4453 visitors and 116 posts have been written .

"TRAIL'S  END" has had  9423  visitors  with 127 posts.

"THE  WORDS  OF  WHITE  WOLF"  can boast 25,967 visitors and 267 posts have been written.

 .I was given the honor to lay a wreath on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen, with me my Grand-Father's Aboriginal Medal WWI..

July 1, 1916

801 Newfoundland sons went over the tops of the trenches in Beaumont Hamel, France. Only 68 sons were at roll call on the morning of July 2....

July 1st is Canada day,  but in Newfoundland it is also Memorial Day. 

We shall not forget your sacrifice....
