Kwe' Greetings,
Honorable Members of Parliament,
Confused and hurt Mi'kmaq across the Island of Newfoundland will be hosting sessions.
It has been a long and tiresome 50 years. Over and over again, down through the generations of oppression and now another leg has hit many hurts over Canada Mi'kmaq who have to leave and work in other parts of our country.
Is any part of your government going to stand and be accountable , to make this wrong doing right.?
As I said in my last e-mail , I work with children's groups across the Island and I'm not , by any means, getting paid .
I am disabled due to a back injury, but I still strive for a better life for our children and work with them to keep them off the streets of drugs etc..
I sit on boards across on the Island and my hands are tied .,Many cry to me for help..I posted the help line but allot of our people haven't even got a phone or cannot sign their name : More education is needed.
Does any one in the federal government hear the cries of my people ?
I saw a sad site today on national TV in Toronto, of Aboriginal people taken and put in none Aboriginal homes in the 60's.
Now I see the same thing on the Island of Newfoundland over the years.
It's now a good time to end this unlivable sad state the Mi'kmaq First People in Newfoundland are going through.
In all due respect, it only takes only one person.... the lone wolf... to do some thing that we all will regret. Suicide and drug addiction have a very high rate among my people.
This is a worst case scenario , and would add more problems to society. Then you , as a government , will have a blind side to this.
The Charter of Rights under Canadian laws don't allow this treatment .Then why is this our route?
What is happening and who is accountable ?
.
Ke--
Please do some thing , at the state of both governments .
Mi'kmaq,(L'nu'k), stand tall and ask for rights for our people , from a great nation that allowed you into our communities .
I would greatly approach this with kindness.
Thank you in advance for you time:
Pikto'l Sa'ke'j Miu's
Victor James Muise....
